Every once in a while a project comes along that gets you genuinely excited and makes all the hardship worthwhile.
For Autem, this project happened very recently and involved our local football team, Kilmarnock Football Club.
Despite having suffered relegation last season, Kilmarnock are looking to bounce back fast and reach the heights of the SPFL once again soon.
Not only that, the Kilmarnock Board and owner Billy Bowie are making positive changes around the club and the stadium.
This includes the construction of a brand-new disabled platform at the stadium. The new platform means that Killie fans with mobility issues will now have a better view of the action and has been welcomed by the Kilmarnock Football Club Disabled Supporters Association (KFCDSA).
Autem Vacuum Lifters and everyone within the Spiers Group was delighted and felt a huge sense of privilege to have been involved with this project.
The structure of the wheelchair access platform was designed and manufactured by WestFab, while the lifting machines used to hoist the steel into place were manufactured and provided by Autem.
Local architects Thomson Hunter Architects were also involved in the project, making it very much a local project.
Proudly, Kilmarnock Football Club are the only club within the Scottish Football Association with this asset. Let’s hope it is the beginning of an inclusive revolution.
